We have recently lost Dallas McKennon who appeared at the Memphis Film Festival in 2003. He quietly passed away just a few days before his 90th birthday. While many may not remember Dallas's name, his face and voice were immediately recognizable. This character actor was seen in TV shows and films and had provided voice work in animated productions throughout a career that spanned 50 years. Mr McKennon was undoubtedly best known for his role as Cincinnatus, the bartender/general store keeper on the "Daniel Boone" TV series. But his face was also seen in Alfred Hitchthingy's "The Birds", "Clambake" (with Elvis Presley), "7 Faces of Dr. Lao" and "The Wheeler Dealers" amongst others. He also had an impressive list ot TV credits including multiple appearances on "Gunsmoke", "Wagon Train", "The Rifleman", "Laramie", "The Virginian" and many, many others. But Dallas also had a second career that he was every bit as successful as his screen appearances - that being his voice work in animated programs. He was the voice behind many favorite cartoon characters including "Gumby", "Inspector Willoughby", "Buzz Buzzard", "Archie Andrews" as well as many characters for Walt Disney features.
