I was saddened to hear that Richard Devon had to cancel out of the 09 Film Festival as I've really enjoyed his work and wanted to meet him. Does anyone know if he'll possibly be at the 2010 show or have any information on his health? I sure hope he can make a future show.

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I am not as technically saavy as my webmaster, and am just now learning how to do this. As to Mr. Devon, we're not sure yet about an appearance this June. He had to have an operation last year, which is what kept him away. We don't want to announce him for 2010 unless we're relatively certain he's going to make it this time. Hope to know something in the next couple of months.

I recently spoke to Richard Devon's wife. Unfortunately, his health situation has not improved. It is highly unlikely that he will be able to attend.

Regret to report Feb 28 that Richard Devon has died. He was 84. He first attended our festival in 1997 and was scheduled to return in 2009. Surgery prevented that, but we had hoped me might try again this year. We received word a few weeks ago his health was in decline. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife, Pat, and the rest of his family.

Richard Devon's wife, Pat, will be attending. She will accept an award in her husband's name, posthumously.

How lovely of her to travel to be with everyone at the festival. I look forward to meeting her.
