When will there be a daily schedule of events during the festival made available to the public?

I'm afraid that won't be revealed until you arrive. There's just not a good way of posting all that. Can tell you in a general way that there are three screening rooms in which western movies and television shows ae shown daily from about 9 am until 11 pm. There are also a few special screenings in the hotel's amphitheatre which include the "Daredevils of the West" serial, a condensed version of "Zombies of the Stratosphere." and "The Reivers." There are daily star panels at around 11 am and 2:00 pm which three to five guests on each one. There's also a special panel with Hugh O'Brian and Derek London on Thursday evening about Wyatt Earp and the gunfight at OK Corral. It will be handled by authoer Mike Nevins, who will also show a number of clips. On Friday evening there's a radio re-creation of "The Cisco Kid," along with a western tv show trivia contest and a sing along. The Saturday night banquet includes a radio re-creation of Gene Autry's Melody Ranch starring Johnny Western as Gene and John Buttram as Pat. There will be other entertainment as well, including an impersonation of the great Red Skelton. That pretty much summarizes everything.

Thank you! I've not attended before. Will there be an opportunity to shake hands with Clint Walker, for instance?

I too have a couple questions:
Can you let us know what movie you are screening on Wednesday night and what time it will begin? I will be driving in on Wednesday.
Also, which version of "The Reivers"? The Steve McQueen version, I hope?

I attended the Festival last year and it is very busy and a lot of fun.
For first time visitors, Yes, you do get to meet and shake hands with the cowboy stars. They were all very friendly last year and really seem to enjoy talking to fans and to each other.
I am really looking foward to coming again this year.

Sorry It has taken me so long to respond. I am a school teacher and stay extremely busy. I can only check this site periodically. The "early bird" screenings will start around 6:00 p.m. I believe. I have the information about what we're showing, but it is at my schoolroom and I'm home now. Will try to look tomorrow. As to "The Reivers" I didn't know there was another version. Yes. it will be the film with McQueen primarly because of Mitch Vogel's role in that film. I am also planning to do a phone interview with the female lead in the film, Sharon Farrell.

Checked "early bird" schedule. It will begin on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. This will be in the 16mm where B westerns will primarily be shown. It leads off with what are described as "Hoppy shorts." I'm trying to find out from the supplier exactly what those are. Something obviously with William Boyd as "Hopalong Cassidy," but perhaps t.v. episodes. As soon as I know, I will note. That's followed by a Bill Elliott/Tex Ritter film "The Devils' Trail." Then comes "Little Joe, The Wrangler" which is another Elliott/Ritter tandem. The night wraps up with Elliott riding alone in "Hidden Valley Outlaws."

Learned the Hoppy shorts are Castle Films condensations of some Cassidy features.

Thanks for the update. Now, a question about ettiquette: Are we allowed to throw popcorn at the screen, boo the villians and cheer for the good guys?

Are we allowed to use our own cameras for pictures with the stars?

I know several other shows have adopted a method of charging for photo-ops and bringing in some professional photographers which you are required to use if you want photos. But I think you will be very impressed with the Memphis show - it is the most fan friendly show I have ever seen and I have seen a bunch!
Not only are the guests accomodating in allowing you to use your own camera, but they are also very obliging to pose with the fans at their table, in the hall, etc.
There's also a special moment just before the Saturday night banquet when all the guests gather together on the big stairwell for a group shot. The flashes are flying at that time!

It is only made available on your arrival. We are unable to send them out in advance. Sorry.

Can you at least give a general outline of hours of operation - time vendors are open. We are coming in from Nashville for the Day on Saturday and would like to at least have an idea of what types of things are going on and when the general hours are.
