The Whispering Woods Hotel and Convention Center which is hosting this summer's festival has announced that the facility is nearing capacity for the dates of the event. However, the hotel has kindly made other arrangements for any attendees who have yet to book their rooms for the festival. They have arranged for a second, nearby hotel to recognize and the honor the special rate ($89.00/night) reserved for the MFF attendess. It is highly recommended that if you are unable to get a room at the Whispering Woods Hotel to make reservations at this other convenient facility. It is only a few minutes walk from the film festival! The second facility is: Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriot Memphis / Olive Branch www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/memob-fairfield-inn-and-suites-memphis-olive-branch/Reservations can be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling this number: 662-892-4469 We appreciate the effort made by Lisa Cline and the staff of the Whispering Woods Hotel to accomodate the attendees of the Memphis Film Festival.

Olive Branch, Ms. was hit by a possible Tornado this past weekend. Several homes and businesses where damaged. I called the host hotel, Whispering Woods to check there status. Very good news to report, no damage and all is good at there location.

The Whispering Woods was actually sold out about three weeks ago. There is somewhere around 40 rooms already reserved at the Fairfield. As of today, there were only 13 rooms left available Thurs-Sat. There are some suites available too, but they are higher priced.
